Period 2 Photography
Photography comes from two ancient Greek words, photo which means light, and graph which mean drawing. Photography has become powerful in communication and visual expression. Drawing the light is a way to describe photography, and it is known as fine arts.
Joseph-Nicephore Niepce began experimenting with a graphic art printing method called lithography. In 1827 he made the world’s first surviving photograph.
The early photographs were called sun pictures because sunlight was used to create the image. Mankind has been taking images at least since the cave paintings of 20,000 years ago. Most of the billions of photographs taken today are snapshots.
Photos are used to document personal events such as vacations, birthdays, and weddings.
There are many types of different photography such as advertising photography, Black and white photography, landscape photography, pet photography, night photography, underwater photography, food photography, and seascape photography.
